What the vocal range test does

It guides you down to your lowest comfortable note and up to your highest, listening through your microphone, then reports your range and a rough voice-type estimate (bass, baritone, tenor, alto, mezzo, soprano).

How you'll use it

Knowing your range helps you choose songs and keys that fit your voice. Re-test over time to track how your range opens up with consistent warmups and practice.

FAQ

Common questions

How accurate is the voice-type estimate?

It's a helpful guideline based on your detected range, not a formal classification — voice type also depends on tone and tessitura.

Do I need a special microphone?

No. A laptop or phone microphone in a quiet room works fine.
